Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 – emphasis on social skills

As announced on Monday, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 is going to be available for purchase on 31 October. The new version offers a number of new functions and capabilities; but the most exciting development is definitely the new Social Insights feature.

As the result of a new partnership with InsideView, the CRM 2013 features exceptional social intelligence capabilities. Bill Patterson, Senior Director for Product and Strategy with Microsoft Dynamics, said it's "the first time we have offered a partnership like this for our CRM platform". The new Social Insights feature gives users real-time company and contact information from 30,000 sources and "combines transactional, customer information with relationship-oriented insights."

Umberto Milletti, CEO of InsideView, added that users will now be able to use data from their entire network of connections, not just the information inside the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. He explained that these connections “could be people you are connected to on LinkedIn or Facebook or people you know from encounters in previous jobs”. Personal contacts can be synced into the CRM system by clicking on the icon on your personal widget page.

Besides the features provided by InsideView, the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM release also offers users new templates with predefined and configurable processes for a number of specific industries, such as professional manufacturing, financial services or event management and solution selling.

According to Bill Patterson, Microsoft put great emphasis on simplifying user experience for the CRM 2013. If you’d like to know more about the new user experience watch the following video:
